@ANY900ARM-SC RF modules are the first to feature the new Sub-1 GHz Microchip AT SAM R30 System-on-Chip that supports a wide range of wireless connectivity applications.

Dresden, Germany – February 25, 2019 – Adaptive Network Solutions, a leading Internet of Things (IoT) design house, today announced the availability of @ANY900ARM-SC IEEE 802.15.4 RF modules for Sub-1 GHz license-free ISM band. The ultra-small modules are the first to feature the new Microchip ATSAMR30 SoC design based on cutting edge ARM Cortex M0+ µC architecture in combination with the well-known AT86RF212B transceiver as system on chip solution. Succeeding the popular @ANY900 platform, @ANY900ARM-SC offers an ultra-small design form factor in combination with reliable data transmission and superior connectivity.

Compared to recent @ANY900 design, @ANY900ARM-SC modules provide exceptional receiving sensitivity, long range, and low power consumption. With a 40% reduced footprint and doubled on-chip flash memory capacity, @ANY900ARM-SC modules present a unique offering in the market. The tiny modules enable quick and efficient solutions for energy management, building and industrial automation, as well as other wireless sensing and control applications. Moreover, an optionally available special ECDH crypto chip supports asymmetric key assignment and ensures highly secure data encryption.

The new @ANY Sub-1 GHz product family includes the following RF modules:

  • @ANY900ARM-SC module presents a fully integrated standards-based solution that contains all the digital and analog circuitry required for tiny wireless devices and eliminates the need for in-house RF expertise;
  • @ANY900ARM-SC-2 module supports a U.FL antenna connector enabling rapid design-in, using different external antennas for every application; and
  • @ANY900ARM-SC-3 module version provides an RF antenna pad for integrated and advanced antenna options.

All @ANY900ARM-SC module versions are designed to work with IEEE 802.15.4-based connectivity standards, such as Zigbee, 6LoWPAN, and Thread. The Sub-1 GHz RF modules are ideal for building and industrial automation, energy management, smart metering and other application areas, requiring robust RF performance. @ANY900ARM-SC modules feature integrated 4MBit SPI flash, 16 MHz XTAL, and an optional ECDH crypto chip as an assembly option. The range can be modified with a software adjusted power output, optimizing the total power consumption at the system level.

Availability

@ANY900ARM-SC-2 and @ANY900ARM-SC-3 modules, as well as complementary accessories, such as @ANY900ARM-SC USB and @ANY900ARM-SC Brick, are currently available in sample quantities.

@ANY900ARM-SC DESIGN development kits can be ordered now for delivery at the end of March 2019. Each kit will contain three @ANY900ARM-SC-2-based BRICK development boards, an @ANY900ARM-SC USB dongle with sub antenna, and a set of external antennas for BRICK units. Software and documentation will be provided via a dedicated download link.
